Wing Merehr is not the man his people want him to be; neither is his brother, Nien. Brothers of different bloodlines—one black, one white—Wing and Nien struggle to choose between who they are who their people want them to be.

But change comes hard to a race that's lived in isolation for centuries. At the center of a continent about to me torn in two, the brothers fight not only for the survival of their people, but for a new way of being.
