![]() WingWing Cawutt was born in Revolution 767 to Joash and Reean Cawutt. An intensely spiritual child, he could read the Ancient Writings in his third revolution. He grew up with the Cawutt's adopted son, Nien; the two were eventually joined by two more siblings: Jake, and Fey. Incredibly close, twins of different skin color, Wing and Nien were inseparable for the first fourteen revolutions of their lives. It was then, during a trip into the Village, that Wing was first met openly with the people's awakening interest in him as the Leader of prophecy. Profoundly shaken, it was at this time that Wing began to withdraw; first from their people, then from his family, and finally even from Nien. Years of silent searching brought Wing insight beyond that of his people, and it was not until Nien had returned from Quieness that he was able to share with someone the results of that search and its possible implications. Though visions and dreams pre-warned Wing, neither he nor his brother were able to turn the tide quickly enough to save their people from the Ka'ull invasions. NienPreak-born, Nien was left at the edge of the Cawutt family fields as a child. Loved desperately by his mother, the circumstances that led her to abandoning him are something Nien never fully explored. More about his mother and birth family may come into light in the conclusion of the Rieevan trilogy. Though Rieeve was in his heart as much as any blood-born Rieevan, Nien's insatiable curiosity could not be satisfied within Rieeve's borders. Too many ideas, questions, and hopes filled his mind, leading him first to study with Commander Lant, then to travel to Quieness on his own. His love for his family, Rieeve, and Wing brought him home however. Within the walls of Rieeve's one ancient castle, Nien fought bravely with his family, his people, and the other Cant members on the night of the Ka'ull invasion. CarlyRieevan-born, Carly was the oldest of three children by a ways. Rambunctious and brave as a youth, she ran with the boys in the Village rather than the girls. It was through this happy-stance that she met the Cawutt brothers: Nien and Wing. Through all of their youth and adulthoods the three's lives were intertwined. Carly lost her entire family the night of the Ka'ull invasion, but her connection to the Cawutt brothers found her again. Her story continues in the third book of the Rieevan trilogy. SiQQiyQuienan-born, SiQQiy carried the blood of a great intermingling of cultures: she was the first Quienan ruler with both Preak and Quienan blood. Her father had ruled before her, and upon his and then the subsequent death of her mother, SiQQiy came to rule. As a child she was shy and reclusive. Having no brothers or sisters to draw her out, she spent many hours alone with her imagination and the vast collection of Palace books. As a youth, however, Palace and Quienan life did what siblings might have and she shed her solitary nature. Following the death of her parents she proved a precise, wise, and prudent leader. Part of her story is told in the first of the Rieevan trilogy, and it continues in the third. Commander LantRieevan, he was an adventurous child. The oldest son, having only one younger sister, Lant would often venture out of Rieeve alone under the cover of darkness. His father having died when he was only twelve revolutions, Lant's mother tried to take a hard stand with him, but after one particularly harrowing excursion, Lant knew he'd pushed the constraints of his mother's tolerance too far. He left Rieeve and did not return for twenty revolutions. Those revolutions will be covered in Lant And Monteray, the first novel (chronologically) of the Rieevan trilogy. Shunned for more than a few revolutions after his return to Rieeve, his presence began to effectuate change in Rieeve to the point where he initiated the Cant and was eventually offered a place on the Rieevan Council. He maintained both positions until the Capture of Rieeve. Master MonterayBorn and raised in Legran, Monteray traveled often to Jayak and Majg even as a youth. He studied with the great martial artists and healers from both valleys, and in one particular visit to Jayak he met the runaway, Lant Ce'Mandu. The two traveled together for nearly twenty revolutions before each returning to their particular valleys.
